Commonwealth Swim Club is built on family, friendship, community, and fun. Cindy Baker exemplified those ideals and she shared them generously. In remembrance of Cindy’s lasting impact on our pool and community, board members are proud to dedicate the Cindy Baker memorial bench in her honor. The bench will be placed next to the shallow end where the Cuda Critters swim each summer, and where little Cudas developed a love for the sport and learned the fundamentals needed to swim safely and efficiently under Cindy’s watchful eye. More than a few Cuda Critters graduated to the Commonwealth Swim Club, and some even returned to coach the Critters years later.  Cindy’s coaching and teaching had a ripple effect on our community that is hard to overstate, and we are forever grateful.

Cindy’s husband Bill and their four daughters were also vital members of our swim club, and we hope the entire Baker family knows that they have a special place in the Cuda family tree. Their leadership, expertise, and sportsmanship, will forever be a part of Cuda culture.

Thank you, sincerely, Cindy and Bill, and the entire Baker family.

The bench was provided through the support of the Friends of Commonwealth Swim Club.
