Cuda Swim

Our goal is to provide kids in our community a healthy, fun filled summer activity. Kids will enjoy the camaraderie of a team sport, learn/enhance a life skill, grow their self-confidence as they see improvement with their swimming skills, gets loads of great physical activity and participate in many team social activities. Our Coaches will work with your kids on free style, breast stroke, back stroke, and butterfly as well as relays in order to compete against other local teams in a wonderful supportive atmosphere. Swim team is a family affair and we hope your family joins us!

To ensure a safe practice, children should be able to swim a length of the pool unassisted to participate on the CUDA swim team. Swimmers who cannot swim the length of the pool will participate in the Cuda Critters. There will be a transitional group of Cuda Critters for swimmers who are close, but are not quite ready to practice with the team beginning of the season. Swimmers will be invited to join the regular practice for their age groups and participate in developmental meets as soon as they are able to make it across the pool (25 meters) with a fluent freestyle stroke.

The Cuda Swim Team participates in many different meets throughout the summer. The schedule will be posted as soon as it is made available. Please click here for the most current calendar. We will compete in swim meets in our NVSL division on Saturday mornings called, “A Meets” and with local pools on Monday evenings called FAST or “B Meets”. Additionally, our relay teams will compete in Relay Carnival, individual athletes that are eligible will compete in IM Carnival, swim divisionals, and those that qualify at divisionals will compete in All-Stars at the end of the season.

Swim meets take an army to run. See below for the number of volunteers needed per meet. Please visit our volunteer page to see how you can help.

• Home Dual Meets: 22-25 volunteers to officiate and/or time

• Away Dual Meets: 18-21 volunteers to officiate and/or time.

• Home FAST meet: 18-21 volunteers to officiate and/or time.

• Away FAST meet: 12-15 volunteers to officiate and/or time.

Communication regarding swim team will be via e-mail from our Swim Team Rep and some posting on social media. Please provide all e-mail addresses where you would like your swim team communication sent when registering.

On Friday nights during the swim season, we have themed Spirit Night activities and a pool wide potluck in the grassy area. Our swimmers enjoy rallying together to get pumped up on race day with cheers and chants. Additionally, we plan some fun team outings throughout the season. We are always looking for volunteers to help run these events!

Team suits can be purchased from Suit Up. A latex swim cap with the team logo is provided to each swimmer as part of their registration fee and should be worn at practice and swim meets. Additionally, silicone caps with last names printed will be available for purchase during the registration period.
